In general, my cocktail preferences lean towards all alcohol drinks like a Manhattan or a Negroni. My wife, on the other hand, thinks many of my amaro-heavy drinks “taste like cough syrup or poison”. Subsequently, I modify a lot of cocktails for her.
I recently picked up a bottle of Creme Yvette, so I thought about a twist on an aviation. I decreased the amount of gin and raised the amount of creme yvette, keeping the lemon and maraschino the same. To make the drink more refreshing, I serve it in a Collins glass on crushed ice topped with club soda. Tonic might also be nice. Enjoy.
