I’ve been fixated on the idea of a boilermaker. While there are a few interpretations, I like to think of it as a shot of liquor in a pint glass, topped with a beer. What if that shot was actually a mini cocktail? The combinations of beer and cocktails are endless. Tonight, I started with my favorite Martini (which was a little more than a shot), topped with a spiced ale. Here’s the recipe:
In a pint glass, pour 2 oz Bols Barrel Aged Genever, 1 oz Vya Extra Dry Vermouth & 2 dashes of Regan’s Orange Bitters. Top with a Sam Adams White Lantern Spiced Ale. Enjoy.
I think the next one will be a mini Last Word topped with a Gose (or some other delicious sour beer).
