The holidays are crazy. I feel like my brain is getting fried. I need to be more conscious of what I’m doing.
Last week, I really wanted to try a coffee & tonic. I’ve been reading about it, and thought it was time to try one. I had just picked up some Bittermilk cocktail mixers, including the Charred Grapefruit Tonic with Bulls Bay Sea Salt. This would make an interesting drink, right?
So I filled a large glass with ice, poured in 1 oz of the mixer and 6 oz of cold club soda. I stirred it, then poured in the espresso, and gently incorporated it. It was both bitter and sour. Different than I had expected, but good. Then I realized that with everything going on, I had accidentally added the Smoked Honey Whiskey Sour Mix instead. It’s a drink worth examining further, but now I need to make the Grapefruit Tonic Espresso. I’ll keep you posted.
