White Trash with Matzo
So, I recently picked up a case of clearance matzo for $5. I figured we could definitely use it up, and this is a great way.
I’ve never really liked the name “white trash”, so if anyone has a better name, I’d love to hear it. There are a lot of different recipes for White Trash on the internet. To keep it simple, I’d say 7 cups of mixed cereal/crackers/nuts works well with 2 bags of melted Ghirardelli white chocolate chips. I used 1 3/4 cups whole grain Cheerios, 1/4 cup chopped pecans, 2 cups lightly broken thin pretzels and 3 cups of lightly broken matzo crackers.
Melt the chocolate in a double boiler and the then add the dry mix into the chocolate bowl. Mix well and pour onto a parchment-lined 1/2 pan. To the top, add 2 small bags of peanut butter M&M’S candy (or whatever you like). Lightly fold the candy in (if the chocolate mix is too hot, the candy will melt). Allow it to cool before eating.
