Last night I had the opportunity to learn a little bit about honeybees and honey.  I went to Baltimore for a presentation by Baltimore Honey, a non-profit that produces “micro-local all natural raw honey with community supported apiary”. http://www.baltimorehoney.org/

But the real take away from the presentation was about pollination. Two statistics:

Honeybees are resposible for 1/3 of all food humans consume, directly or indirectly, because of pollination.

From 2006-2011 33% of honeybee colonies disappeared.

So where does that leave us? What’s next?
